    About - glass cutting

    This glass cutting session is the first step on the glass art journey.

    Glass cutting is an essential skill for leadlight, stained glass work, glass fusing, and you will also find it extremely useful for mosaics. You might even like to use it for a little bit of glazing or picture framing!

    Whether you are brand new to cutting glass or wanting to improve your existing technique there are a surprising number of tricks and skills to learn. You will practice the skills to cut and break simple to tricky shapes successfully. Then you can practice and practice to gain confidence.

    Glass for this cutting session is included in the cost. Tools will be available to use.

    During the session you can decide on materials and designs if you are going onto another workshop. Tool kits are available to purchase too. Especially useful if you wish to continue practicing your skills at home.

    About session 1 - glass cutting

    This glass cutting session is the first step on the glass art journey.

    During session one you will decide on your project for the foiling sessions.

    The end of session one is the best time to select and purchase the glass for your foiling project. Suzi Brown Glass has a fantastic range to choose from.

    About sessions 2 & 3 – copper foiling

    In these sessions you will make a Beginner Copper Foil Project. You will learn how to work to a pattern to make a stained glass item using the Copper Foil technique. You will use your glass cutting skills and learn foiling and soldering.
    You can pick a beginner’s project from a selection of patterns, depending on your glass cutting skill level, and your level of confidence. You may even like to select a pre-cut bevel project for these sessions.
    The main thing is to keep your first project simple so that you can learn all the stages and get to take the finished item home.

  • Inktober Detention
    Take an after-work hour, collaborating on previous prompts of Inktober.
    Arrive 5.15pm (or earlier if you need to make yourself a cuppa)
    Workshop 5.30 – 6.30pm
    Bring: your favourite ink and visual journal/book/paper stash of some sort.
    Various shared materials will be available also.

    When you click buy the options will give you the dates to choose from.

    Door sales between 4.45 & 5.10 on the day if any spaces are available.

    About - Lead Lighting

    You would need to have completed a glass cutting workshop already, or be proficient at glass cutting

    The tulip project is done by everyone at this workshop. It gives the teaching points needed to gain a good understanding of the methods taught.

    Participants should visit on an earlier day to select and buy the glass they would like to carry out this pattern.
    Lead, Solder, Flux, Cement & Polish included.
