Living a life based on creativity means there are always pieces of original work and surplus materials available for sale. If you spot something you would like to buy please e-mail your enquiry to secure your option on the piece. These are all marketed elsewhere as well so once I receive your e-mail I can confirm availability and grab it off the shelf, so to speak. All prices are in New Zealand dollars and are gst inclusive. Freight will be quoted separately if required.

From time to time I will have selected work from other artists available on here too. As any of my work becomes available for sale you will find in on this page. If you would like to be updated when listings change please subscribe by e-mail or the contact form.

Where you like a piece but it is not quite what you need please get in touch for a chat about a commission. Therein is the benefit of dealing directly with the artist.

Please click on any image to reveal the complete piece.

Welcome and enjoy,

Carla

Mosaic tiles by the mile. I have a collection `read trailer load` of retro ceramic tiles. Although I use these in my own mosaics I expect that I wont get through these in several life times. This piece is in response to a challenge that I set myself. After attending the sculpting workshop at Yebo I set a creative goal to form a complete chess set. The white side will be formed from Oamaru Stone and the black side will be on cast cement bases finished with mosaic materials. One down, several more to go! Do make contact if you wish to commission this work.

Oamaru Stone | 290mm | Copyright 2008

This piece shows block representations of hands and face cupped together. Voluptuous curves sit cross legged as Anlya takes up a thinking pose. This squat figure would be great in a shadowy corner of the garden. Let light and shadows play on the sculpted form to add interest to your landscape.

Influenced, with permission, by the work of Brazilian sculptor and dear friend Leya T. Rochz who I had great pleasure in introducing to Oamaru stone.

Testimonial

Hi, Thanks for asking, a couple of years ago I started making “soft stone’ sculptures (cement based) mixing and setting the base materials myself… I was under the impression that Oamaru stone was a very hard stone to work with.  However finding your auction on trade me, it spurred me on to try Oamaru stone, and I must say I was more than surprised to find how easy it was to carve, much easier than cement based work!  With cement sculpture I only had a small window of opportunity to finish a carving before the cement was too hard, now that I have a baby and can’t dedicate the time like I used to, I find the Oamaru stone a much more flexible medium!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to re-ignite my passion! I have really enjoyed working with the stone. Do you have more stone available and if so, what sizes?

Thanks very much

Christina
